WEEK TWO

So this weekend, James and I met to have a serious discussion over what our future designs will look like, and how they will incorporate the theme of exploration and adventure. Something big that we agreed on was the idea of going back to minimalism; while the original call for entries posters were complex in the way that they have the character, the essence of the poster is incredibly simple and minimalistic; thus, we are going back to that. In addition, we have decided on a couple good fonts to use, and hopefully these will work better than our previous attempts - the Digital Arts posters in particular. I think the character will be taking a break for a couple designs until it can be properly used for something.

We also discussed some ideas for T-shirts because that's the next big thing, and we came up with a couple concepts that I'm interested to talk to the class about.

Also, I looked over and graded the Abstracts, and they were fairly interesting. I'm really passionate about making sure one or two in particular make it into the festival, BUT we'll see what happens.

Semester two, LET'S DO THIS

HEY EVERYONE! HOW WERE YOUR HOLIDAYS? WERE THEY AMAZING? GOOD!

So!

Last Friday the Art Dept. met to make sure our game plan for the semester was good to go. James and I have split up our duties, and we've been working on poster designs for the past few days. We've established weekly meeting times, both for James and I and for the Art Dept. as a whole, and we've been GETTING SHIT DONE.

Over the past weekend:

I've created a draft for the Volunteers poster, which is due on Wednesday.
I've helped James to make the Digital arts posters, which are due Wednesday.
I've discussed the party posters with Ally - we are meeting later in the week to finalize designs and they will be ready by Monday the 20th.
I've fixed up the Call for Entries slider picture and D&D Sluggers slider picture.
I've helped Channing a bit with website design.
